I can't stop thinking about the note James left for his mom. It's been sticking with me ever since I read about this case. It's just so poignant and haunting. I keep wondering what he was really going through at that moment and what finally pushed him to leave. It's so telling that he took just a small amount of cash and some essentials, but also left his meds behind. I feel like the note is such a crucial piece of the puzzle here. Has anyone else found details on whether he wrote anything like this before? It's not much, but it might give us a hint into his state of mind. If anyone has insights or theories, I'd love to hear them.

I just came across James Allen McLean's case, and something keeps bothering me. Has anyone looked into the towns or communities around Puyallup where individuals with mental health issues might find help or shelter? Given that James was struggling with bipolar disorder and had some cash with him, maybe he sought refuge somewhere or ended up at a place like that? Also, I read that there's been no use of his food stamp card since he went missing. Does anyone know if it's typical for tracking to go cold on such cards when someone goes off the grid, or does it suggest something more sinister, like someone else might've taken them? It just seems like there's a gap that could offer clues, and it feels frustrating to see such a lack of progress after all these years. Would love to hear any thoughts or if there's been any similar case where a trace led to some answers.
