I've been following the tragic cases of the homeless murders in Koreatown from the late '80s, and I feel really compelled to talk about the incredible resilience of this community in the face of such horrific violence. It's devastating how vulnerable the homeless population was, and still is, to this kind of targeted brutality. John Charles Coble's murder, along with the others, underscores a deep societal issue that often goes unaddressed—the lack of protection and justice for individuals living on the streets. I can't stop thinking about how the community rallied after these attacks. From the volunteers providing meals and blankets to those attending vigils, it felt like a collective refusal to let these individuals be forgotten, to stand together in a moment of darkness. Every life lost was a reminder of the humanity that others tried to overlook. It's important to remember John C. Coble, Isaac Davis, Christopher Forsblade, and all those who suffered due to Danks' senseless violence. Their lives were valuable. Sharing their stories and discussing these tragic events might hopefully spark much-needed conversations about protecting our most vulnerable populations and ensuring justice is truly served.
