I’ve been following Eddie Smith's case from a distance and it’s incredibly tough to wrap my head around. Eddie's vibrant personality and unique style made him stand out in the best way possible. I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family and friends went through—and still go through—knowing the details of his untimely death.
The idea that someone like Dahmer, who Eddie perhaps thought he could trust even a little, was responsible is deeply unsettling. I'm struck by how Dahmer's capture and confession opened up the truth about Eddie’s disappearance after more than a year of uncertainty. It must have been so painful for Eddie’s loved ones to hear these details, yet it also brought some clarity in such a confusing and tragic case.
