I can't stop thinking about how terrifying it must have been for patients and families at Somerset Medical Center during Charles Cullen's time there. My heart goes out to Melvin Simcoe's family, knowing they entrusted his care to someone who betrayed that trust in the worst way possible. As a Korean War veteran and a devoted family man, Melvin deserved so much better. How do you even begin to rebuild trust in the healthcare system after such a betrayal? It's chilling to think how Cullen managed to evade detection for so long. I hope Melvin's family finds some measure of peace, though I can't imagine how hard it must be to move forward after losing someone in such a senseless manner.
