I was reading about Dorothea Krough Hoagland, and what a tragedy it is that her life was cut short in such a cruel way. Her story really makes you think about the trust we place in healthcare professionals. I can only imagine how her family felt knowing she was in a place that should have been safe and protective, but instead became the scene of such a heinous act. It's chilling to think Cullen was able to continue his spree for so long. I hope the changes in hospital protocols since then provide some comfort to her family and help prevent such a nightmare from happening again. Her legacy, although marred by this horrible event, also serves as a reminder of the need for constant vigilance and improvement in patient care. Thoughts go out to Sharon, Donna, and all the family members who have to carry this burden.
