I've been diving into the Charles Cullen case recently, and one thing that really stood out to me was how vulnerable patients were at the time. Hospitals are supposed to be places of healing and safety, and it's terrifying to think that someone like Cullen was able to exploit that trust so easily. I can't even begin to imagine the horror Mary Natoli's family must have felt upon learning the truth. It just shows how crucial it is for hospitals to have strict monitoring and accountability procedures in place. If only these measures had been more robust back then, maybe Mary and others wouldn't have suffered at Cullen's hands. It's a sobering reminder that we need to stay vigilant about patient safety to honor victims like Mary.
