I've been revisiting this case, and something that really sticks with me is how personal this crime seemed. No forced entry suggests the killer was someone the victims felt comfortable letting in. The thought of someone they trusted—who they thought was a friend or at least not a threat—turning on them so viciously is terrifying. Vivian and her family suffered unimaginable horrors at the hands of someone they probably never saw coming. It's a reminder of how we often never really know what darkness people might harbor.
