It's hard to imagine the pain the Wells family must have felt when they learned about Steven’s murder. I'm particularly struck by how Steven’s case and other victims led to a broader look at law enforcement practices back then. I've read that in those times, communication between different law enforcement agencies sometimes faced hurdles which allowed people like Bonin to continue their horrific activities for so long. Does anyone know if Steven's case specifically prompted any changes or improvements in agency collaboration? It just shows how crucial it is for departments to work seamlessly together to prevent future tragedies. My heart truly goes out to Steven's family and all those who carry the grief of losing loved ones to such horrifying acts.
