I recently came across the case of Thomas Glen Lundgren, and it's been on my mind ever since. While everyone's focus is understandably on the tragic loss of such a young life, I keep wondering about the emotional toll on Thomas's friends. At 13, losing a friend in such a horrific manner must have been beyond traumatizing for them. Schools often have counselors now, but back then, the resources might not have been the same. It's hard to imagine how they coped with the sudden absence of their friend, coupled with the fear of knowing such an evil person was out there. I hope they've been able to find some peace and healing over the years. Does anyone know if there were any support efforts for the kids and families affected by Bonin's crimes at the time?

I've been thinking about the challenges law enforcement faced back in 1979 when they were working on catching Bonin and his accomplices. It must've been incredibly difficult to piece everything together, especially with fewer resources and less advanced technology than we have today. The way these cases were handled back then makes me appreciate the dedication and hard work of those detectives even more. I can't imagine the pressure they were under to connect the dots between Thomas's tragic death and the other murders. It's such a sad and infuriating case. My heart goes out to Thomas's family; I hope they were somehow able to find a little bit of peace knowing law enforcement eventually caught up with the monster responsible for these heinous acts. It's so important to remember and honor the victims, and I'm grateful for the progress that's been made over the years in solving crimes like this.
