I've been following the tragic case of Diane Woodring and the other victims of Dr. George Blatti's reckless prescribing. What really struck me, beyond the devastating loss for Diane's family, was the sheer lack of accountability before it was too late. It's astounding to think that despite numerous warnings, Blatti continued his dangerous practices unabated. Why wasn't there more stringent oversight or intervention earlier? The system clearly failed Diane and others like her. My heart goes out to their families who must now navigate a world forever changed by such a preventable tragedy. Does anyone else feel like there needs to be a more robust system in place to identify and stop these dangerous practices before they reach such a tragic endpoint?
