I've been thinking about how Anna's friend Denise must feel, even all these years later. I can't imagine the guilt and anguish she went through after leaving Anna for just a brief moment, only to come back and find her gone. It's a chilling reminder of how quickly life can change. I hope Denise has found some peace and support over the years. Anna should have been safe that night, just enjoying the music with her friend. It's a tough world where people capable of such cruelty exist, and my heart goes out to those who knew and loved Anna.
