Has anyone else been looking into the background of John Annibel? I've been trying to piece together anything that might connect him more solidly to Sherry Lynn Smith's case. It's chilling to think Sherry was last seen heading towards his car after the dance. It makes me wonder what kind of person he was back in '76 and why it took so long for any solid charges to stick, like they finally did in '99 with Debbie Sloan. Were there any warning signs or rumors in the community about him back then? My heart goes out to Sherry’s friends and family who have had to live all these years without answers. The whole case is such a heavy reminder of how scary it can be to trust the wrong person. If anyone has more insight or remembers something about that night or about Annibel himself, it would be interesting to hear more perspectives.
