I recently came across a lesser-discussed detail about the aftermath of Eddie Adams' crimes that I found quite intriguing. It turns out that George Oldham, the farmer who was tragically shot by Adams, was a well-respected member of his community, and his murder sent shockwaves through Cowley County. I read that the locals were deeply affected by the loss and rallied together to support Oldham's widow and children. During this period, neighbors and friends organized fundraisers to help the family financially, as losing their primary breadwinner put them in a challenging situation. It's incredibly moving to see the compassion and solidarity demonstrated by a community in the face of such senseless violence. If anyone else has come across more details about how Cowley County coped during this time, I’d love to learn more. My thoughts are with the families of both George Oldham and Robert Fitzpatrick. It's a reminder of the human cost behind these historical events.
