Reading about Constable Isgitt's story gives me chills every time. I can't imagine how his wife and four daughters must have felt, losing their husband and father under such sudden and tragic circumstances. It's really striking how brave Isgitt was, going into a dangerous situation to protect someone vulnerable. Stories of officers like him lay bare just how much courage it takes to work in law enforcement. Also, it’s such a stark reminder of the long history of domestic violence and the risks involved in responding to these situations. If only the procedures we have today were in place back then, maybe things could have been different. My heart goes out to his descendants; his legacy of dedication and bravery is something they can surely be proud of.
