Has anyone else been struck by the eerie fact that Oswald was shot just two days after Kennedy's assassination, and the whole thing happened on live TV? I can't help but think about the shock and disbelief that must have rippled through everyone watching that day. To see someone, now a historical figure, just gunned down in front of you, can't be easy to process. It feels like an important shift in history, even for those who didn't personally know Oswald or his family. It's a lot to digest, and I wonder how it influenced public perception of the case back then. Would love to hear others' thoughts on what it would have been like to witness those events unfold on national television.
Has anyone else ever wondered about the circumstances under which Jack Ruby was able to get so close to Oswald during his transfer? From what I understand, Ruby wasn't even a part of the press, and yet he managed to slip into the secured area undetected with a loaded gun. Given how high-profile the case was, the security lapse is really hard to grasp. I know it was a different era in terms of law enforcement, but you'd think there would have been tighter control given the stakes.
And thinking about Oswald's family—I can't imagine what they were going through. This all happened on live TV, and within the span of days, he was accused of one of the most devastating crimes in American history and then killed. Whether or not you believe he was guilty, the impact on his family must have been profound and haunting. They never got the chance to see him go through a full trial, and that must leave so many questions forever unanswered.
