I recently stumbled upon this case, and I keep thinking about the unfortunate parallels between Inspector Latham's murder and that of his grandfather, Inspector James Wallen. It's just chilling to think that such a devastating history repeated itself within the same family and near the same location. My heart goes out to the Latham family. They've had to endure not just one, but two unimaginable losses over the decades. It must be incredibly painful to see the killer released from federal custody after they thought justice had been served. It seems so unjust that after all they've been through, they’re now left with this burden. Does anyone know if there have been any efforts to support the family or memorials established in honor of these two brave men?
