Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Daniel Joe Hittle for a while, and something that's been on my mind lately is how utterly surreal it must have been for the community in Garland, TX, especially those who knew Mary Goss and her family. Imagine the fear and confusion that night, knowing someone you might have called a friend or neighbor was capable of such horror. I read that he killed four people that night, including a little girl. It’s just chilling.
Something I can't quite wrap my head around is Hittle's mindset after being released on parole, considering his violent past. I found myself wondering if there were signs leading up to that night, especially since he had a dispute with Mary. Did anyone around him notice anything off? It’s just so disturbing to think someone with such a history could slip through cracks and unleash such chaos.
My heart really goes out to Mary’s loved ones, and also to Officer Walker's family. The bravery of police officers that night probably prevented further loss. What a tragic reminder of the importance of addressing conflicts before they escalate. It’s a story that stays with you.
Would love to hear what others think about this aspect of the case. How do communities try and heal from something like this?
Stay safe, everyone.
