Hi everyone,
I've been doing some reading about the tragic event at Luby's Cafeteria and came across the story of Suzy Kunath Gratia and her husband, Al. It's absolutely devastating to think about how a peaceful lunch outing could end in such tragedy. What really struck me about Suzy's story is that so many lives were forever altered in an instant. I can't even begin to imagine the pain her family and friends must have felt and continue to feel.
I was thinking about how this incident led to discussions about mental health and gun control. It seems like there was a real opportunity for change back then, but as we know, it's a complex issue that persists today. I'm curious if any of you have thoughts on how the discourse around this has evolved, if at all, since 1991. Have there been any effective changes that you think have come out of this, or do we still have a long way to go?
My thoughts are with all the victims and everyone affected by this tragedy.
Take care,
