I can't stop thinking about the community's reaction to James Caston's tragic passing. It really brings into focus how deeply rooted gun violence issues are in St. Louis. It’s like everyone knows someone who has been impacted by it, and losing someone so young in such a public way hits hard. I wonder if there have been any changes in local policies or increased community efforts since 2009 to tackle this issue head-on. Living in fear isn't something any community should have to endure. I hope there has been progress, even if it’s just in getting people to talk more openly about these incidents and supporting initiatives for safer neighborhoods. My thoughts are with James's family, who have had to navigate this unimaginable loss for so many years. I really hope they find the peace they deserve and that justice prevails one day.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the James Caston case and wanted to mention something that might not be getting enough attention—the intersection where the shooting happened. From what I know, Martin Luther King Drive and Billups Avenue is a pretty busy area, especially in the afternoon. It makes me wonder how no one saw anything, or if they did, why they haven’t come forward yet. The fact that this happened in broad daylight is just terrifying. I keep thinking about the families and friends in the neighborhood who have to pass through that intersection every day, probably with a pit in their stomachs now. I hope this post can be a gentle reminder for anyone who might’ve been around that area on October 14, 2009, to think back on anything they might have seen or heard. Even the smallest detail could provide a lead for the investigators. James deserves justice, and his family deserves peace of mind. It’s hard to accept that cases like this often remain unsolved due to silence or fear. Let’s not allow that to be the end of James Caston's story.
