Has anyone else been looking into the life and legacy of Pauline "Polly" Kerr Powell? I was drawn to her story because of how much love and dedication seems to have surrounded her during her life. It’s touching to see how someone becomes an anchor in their community, providing wisdom and warmth. It got me thinking about how sometimes the lives of our elders hold deeper stories that often go unnoticed outside tight-knit circles. Also, Polly seemed like she had a deep connection to her roots in Newton County, Texas, and with her final resting place being in Jasper County, it's clear her ties to the area ran deep. I wonder what it was about the region that maybe held such significance for her? Perhaps her life in these communities was a significant part of why she is remembered so fondly.
