I've been following the Lee Dixon case, and one aspect that hasn't left my mind is the dashcam footage used during the trial. I can't imagine what it must have felt like for Dixon's family to see those final moments of their loved one's life. It's such a stark reminder of how quickly situations can escalate, especially in high-stress jobs like law enforcement. The footage apparently showed how Dixon, even in his final moments, was trying to de-escalate and resolve the situation without violence. It's tragic that his commitment to his duty was met with such a devastating end. My heart goes out to his family and colleagues who have to carry the heavy burden of this loss. It's hard to wrap your head around how things like PTSD and traumatic brain injuries can twist someone into doing the unthinkable, but it never takes away the pain for those left behind.
