I've been following the case of Officer Don Allen, and I can't shake how surreal it must have been for the first responders who found him. Imagine walking into that scene knowing you're trying to save one of your own, someone you've probably worked alongside or shared a coffee break with during shifts. It breaks my heart to think about what his fellow officers went through, not just during the discovery but throughout the entire investigation. It must have been incredibly difficult for them to push through their grief and focus on bringing justice to their friend. My thoughts are with Allen's fellow officers who stood by him in life and continue to honor him in death. They must go to work every day with a piece missing, and I hope they know the community supports them just as much as they are supporting Allen's family during this time.
