It's so distressing to think about the ripple effects that Robert Terron Burrell's death has had on his community. I can't stop thinking about how many lives were changed that day at the DART bus stop on Lake June Road. I heard that Robert was well-liked and had a bright future ahead of him, which makes this senseless act even harder to fathom. It’s important that we talk about how youth violence affects everyone and put more effort into finding solutions to keep our young people safe. The witnesses who came forward with information about Melvin Larry Donnell Jr. really deserve commendation, as their courage was essential in making sure Robert's family moved a step closer to justice. It's just so vital that communities work together to protect kids from becoming victims—or perpetrators—of such violence. Sending so much love to Robert’s friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.
