Has anyone else been following the trial proceedings for Oscar Daniel Vega Espinoza? I’ve been reading up on the testimonies and I find it so deeply distressing how Ana’s history of reporting the abuse didn’t prevent this tragedy. It seems like the system failed her at multiple turns. She was brave enough to seek help and still met such an awful end. Are there any changes being discussed in Houston regarding how domestic violence cases are handled? It’s frustrating and so sad to think about what could have been done differently to protect Ana.
