I’ve been thinking a lot about Laura’s role in her community as a volunteer with the Rowlett Police Department. It’s incredibly tragic how someone who gave so much of her time and energy to helping others ended up being the victim of such a senseless act of violence. The way she dedicated herself to the Volunteers In Police Services program really speaks to her character. It must have been such a devastating loss not only for her family but also for everyone she worked alongside in the community. I can't imagine the void she left in the lives of her friends, family, and all those who knew her through her volunteer work. Her legacy of kindness and commitment to service should never be forgotten. It’s so important that we keep her memory alive by continuing to support causes she believed in and by being there for her children as a community. Keeping Laura and her family in my thoughts.

Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Laura Grillo from Rowlett, TX? I can't get over the sheer audacity and betrayal involved. Her fiancé, John Makris, really seemed to have a double life going on. I mean, how does someone go from planning a wedding to planning a murder just days apart? I came across an article that mentioned Laura was a dedicated volunteer with the police. It’s just so cruelly ironic that she was helping out the very community that would later help bring her justice. Does anyone else think about what it must have been like for the Rowlett Police Department to handle this case? They were investigating the murder of someone who was practically one of their own. It must have been incredibly painful for them and, at the same time, motivated them to solve the case swiftly. The whole situation really makes you think about the hidden faces of people and how well you truly know those closest to you. Sending lots of love and strength to Laura's family, especially her kiddos. Can't imagine the loss they’ve endured. Would love to hear others’ thoughts on the relationships between the victim, her family, and the police. Do you think the connection with the department had any influence on how quickly the case was solved?
