I've been thinking a lot about the tragic loss of Shania Ashbaker and her boyfriend, David Martinez. Being a mascot often requires energy and enthusiasm, both of which seem to have been key parts of who Shania was. Growing up without your mother must be incredibly difficult, and I can only hope that Savannah is surrounded by loving family and friends who can help her remember Shania's warmth and vibrancy. It's a stark reminder of how one person's moments of anger can ripple out and change so many lives forever. Keeping Shania's family, especially little Savannah, in my thoughts. ?
