Has anyone else been following the impact Ricky Nelson Miles Jr.'s case has had on the Longview community? It's incredibly moving to see how his family and friends have rallied to call for change and honor his memory. With Cody Fortman's guilty plea, it seems there's been a glimmer of justice, but it’s clear that Ricky's passing has left a void that’s hard to fill.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how the community has responded. There have been efforts to raise awareness about violent crime in the area, and it seems like people are coming together to support one another more than ever. It's heartening to see neighbors advocating for a stronger police presence and community programs, but it’s so sad that it often takes a tragedy like this to spur action.
