Robert Anthony Thomas was 21 when he was shot and killed in St. Louis on the night of January 16, 2012. He had just left a nightclub and was in the 500 block of North 20th Street when he reportedly confronted people who were breaking into cars; during the confrontation he was fatally shot. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department opened a homicide investigation but the initial probe did not produce arrests or publicly identified suspects.
