Hello everyone,
I’ve been following Jessica Heeringa's case closely and recently started thinking about the gas station’s setup during her disappearance. It's been noted that there were no surveillance cameras installed at the Exxon station. This boggles my mind—why was that the case? I know it was 2013, but weren't cameras pretty standard even then, especially for a gas station? If there had been any security footage, it might have prevented so much of the mystery surrounding this case. How common was it back then for places like this to not have security cameras? Insights, anyone?
Has anyone else been following the search efforts for Jessica's remains? It's been so long, and I can't imagine what her family is going through not having any closure. I read that Willis refuses to reveal the location of her body, if he even really knows. I'm curious if there have been any new search efforts recently or if the investigation has gone cold. Does anyone have updates, or know if there are still active search teams involved? It's like we're so close to piecing the puzzle together, yet the final piece remains elusive.
Does anyone else think it's strange that the gas station had no security cameras? In this day and age, it seems almost unheard of for a business, especially a gas station open late, to not have some form of surveillance. I can’t help but wonder if things might have turned out differently if there had been cameras. Perhaps they could’ve captured the silver minivan or maybe even the suspect’s face. This case might have had a faster resolution, or at least given Jessica’s family some answers sooner. It feels like a missed opportunity that might've helped piece together crucial moments of that night. What are everyone else’s thoughts on this missing security footage angle?
