I just learned about the incredible courage shown by Carly Shockey during that dreadful night on September 10, 2017. She's the sole survivor of that horrific mass shooting in Plano, Texas. It's hard to even imagine the strength it took for her to escape after being shot in the jaw. Despite the unimaginable trauma she endured, Carly's story of survival is a stark reminder of how quickly life can change and the unexpected resilience people can have in the face of unimaginable horror. I hope Carly is receiving the support and care she needs as she continues to heal physically and emotionally. The community must rally around her and the families of all those who lost loved ones. Their lives were senselessly cut short, and it's essential that we remember them and work towards preventing such tragedies in the future. My heart goes out to Carly and everyone affected by this tragedy.

I've been following the tragic events of the Plano shooting, and I can't stop thinking about Tony Cross. I came across some stories from his friends, and they shared how he was always the life of the party—brightening any room with his humor and kindness. It’s painful to think that such an energetic and positive person had their life cut short in such a violent way. I noticed some people have been talking a lot about the tragedy itself and the shooter, but I think it's also important to remember the victims as individuals. Tony made such a lasting impact on those around him. From the heartfelt posts and memories shared by those who knew him, you can tell he left behind a legacy of love and joy. I just hope his friends and family find support in one another during this unimaginably difficult time. No one should ever have to endure this kind of loss.
