I've been thinking a lot about how Angie Maria Garcia Ellison had such a nurturing role at Methodist Hospital and was actively involved in her daughter's basketball life. It's incredibly hard to reconcile that someone who touched lives through her work and community could have met such a tragic end. For those of you who might have worked alongside her or knew her from the sports sidelines, what was she like? I've read how those who knew her described her as someone who was devoted and caring. It's hard to hear how much her family and friends have lost, especially when she seemed to be a pillar in both her personal and professional circles. My heart goes out to her daughter, who no longer has her mom around for those big and small moments in life. It’s brutal that violence has such a broad, life-altering impact on loved ones left behind.

I can't stop thinking about the impact Angie must have had on her community and those around her. Being a dedicated mother and working at Methodist Hospital, I can only imagine the number of lives she touched on a daily basis. It's so difficult to comprehend how a devoted mother who was so involved in her daughter's life could suddenly be gone. Her connection to the community, especially through her daughter's basketball activities, shows how intertwined her life was with those of others. I truly hope that her family and friends are finding some comfort in the memories they shared with her. It's clear she was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. If anyone has more stories or memories of Angie they'd like to share, I'd be genuinely interested in hearing them.
