I've been thinking a lot about Cynthia Olinde Tisdale recently, especially in light of what a positive influence she seemed to be. Her passion for working with special needs students is something that really resonates with me. You often hear about teachers who see their role as just a job, but from everything I've read, Cynthia truly had a calling. It's admirable how she chose to step back into teaching, especially at an age when many would be winding down their careers.
This was someone who could have chosen a different path but was inspired by a genuine love for helping kids who need it most. That part of her story really hits me. It's these small acts of dedication and kindness that often go unnoticed in the daily news cycle, yet they can mean the world to someone. I can't stop thinking about the ripple effect she must have had on her students and how she undoubtedly changed lives for the better.
Rest in peace, Cynthia. The world could certainly use more people like you. Does anyone know if her legacy in special education has been continued in any way?
