I’ve been thinking about the CCTV footage from the 7-Eleven where Mon Rai was killed. Has anyone heard if the police have made any public comments about its quality or if it's been helpful at all? It baffles me that in 2013, surveillance tech should be good enough to capture something useful. Sometimes these details lead to breakthroughs in cases. Rai’s story just tears at me, knowing he survived so much only to face this in what was supposed to be a safe haven. It’s haunting that the person responsible is still out there. If anyone has updates or insights into how the footage has played into the investigation, please share. Maybe keeping the conversation alive will help bring some justice for Mon and his family.
Has anyone else been following the case of Mon Rai, the clerk who was killed at a 7-Eleven in St. Louis back in 2013? I can't help but think about his wife and soon-to-be child left behind after such a senseless tragedy. It's been over a decade, and with no resolution in sight, it's just really upsetting. I wonder how these unsolved cases weigh on the police, especially when the victim was someone who overcame so much adversity to build a new life. Does anyone have updates on whether the reward led to any new leads, or how the community is holding up? It's hard to fathom how a family could be upended in such a way, and yet the person responsible still hasn't been brought to justice.
Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the 7-Eleven security measures following the tragedy of Mon Rai’s murder. It’s just gut-wrenching to imagine that Mon, who sought safety and a better life in the U.S., faced such violence. Does anyone know if they’ve increased surveillance or security at similar locations since then? It seems crucial, not just for justice in Mon’s case, but to prevent future tragedies. My heart goes out to Mon's loved ones, especially his wife, during what must be a tremendously difficult time.
I hope continued conversations can spur some changes and remembrance of Mon’s life. Let's keep the dialogue going and push for ways to make our communities safer.
