Has anyone else been following the Felipe Hernandez case? It’s tough to wrap my head around the fact that this happened on Thanksgiving morning, a time that's supposed to be about family and gratitude. From what I've read, witnesses saw three suspects running towards Skyline High School right after the shots were fired.
It's particularly unsettling that this tragedy took place so close to a school. You can't help but think about how children and teenagers in that neighborhood must feel—places that should be safe have been clouded with fear. My heart goes out to Felipe's family, especially his mom, Zanaida, and sisters. It’s got to be incredibly difficult for them.
What really frustrates me is that there haven’t been any public arrests. Dallas PD and Crime Stoppers put up a reward, but with no real progress being reported, it's like this case is going cold, which is just so unfair to Felipe and his loved ones. Communities need to rally together in these times, both to support the grieving families and to push for answers. Maybe someone out there has information that could lead to justice. Here's hoping someone comes forward soon.
I was thinking about Felipe today, and it got me wondering about the community around Skyline High School. It's really jarring to think that Felipe was taken away on Thanksgiving morning, a day that's meant for family and gratitude. That community must still be reeling from the loss. It’s so sad that his family and friends have to go through this tragic experience, especially on a day that's usually spent together with loved ones. I truly hope they find some comfort in the support of the community rallying around them, calling for justice for Felipe.
Does anyone know if the neighborhood has organized any events or vigils in Felipe’s memory? Sometimes community gatherings can spark new information or leads. It might also help raise awareness about youth gun violence and remind everyone why finding justice for Felipe is so essential.
