Hey everyone, I was doing some research on the Frank Wilder case and noticed something intriguing about how the snowstorm that night might have played a big role in the initial disappearance. From what I’ve read, the weather reports from January 27, 1971, indicated a sudden and severe snowstorm, which wasn’t uncommon for Vermont, but it seems it intensified right around the time the jet was supposed to be over the lake.
Has anyone come across any expert analysis or historical records that discuss how quickly the conditions might have deteriorated? I wonder if this was a factor that led to bad visibility or even misguided the pilot. It seems like weather risks weren’t always communicated effectively back then, especially for private flights, so could this have been a critical oversight?
If anyone has resources or old news clippings that touched on this aspect, I’d love to dive deeper into it. It’s so important to look at all angles, especially with such a tragic outcome. Thoughts?
