I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact this tragedy has had on Nathan’s young son, Zayden. It's so important to remember that the ripples of this awful event affected not just those directly involved but also the next generation. Growing up without a father because of such violence is a heavy burden for a child. I sincerely hope Zayden has a strong support system around him to help navigate these difficult times. A community's role in rallying around families in the wake of such loss cannot be overstated. I can only hope this little boy grows up knowing how cherished and loved his dad was by those who knew him. Sending strength and love to Nathan’s family and especially to little Zayden. ?

Hi everyone, I'm still wrapping my head around Nathan's tragic case. It's just terribly sad what his family and especially his son will have to endure without him. I keep thinking about how much Nathan was doing to build a future for Zayden, working for his grandfather at Angel's Fencing. It must be devastating for Zayden to grow up without his dad around to guide him. Something that’s been on my mind is the stolen firearms. How did Daniel Mendoza and his accomplices get access to them in the first place? It feels like this could've been a preventable tragedy if those guns hadn't found their way into the wrong hands. I just hope that moving forward, something can be learned from this to prevent similar incidents. My thoughts are with everyone affected, and especially young Zayden, who has an incredibly resilient mom to help him remember the good times with his dad. Would love to hear what others think about this aspect of the case.

I've been following Nathan Cortinas' case closely, and I'm still deeply affected by what happened to him and his family. One aspect I find especially troubling is the failure of Daniel Mendoza's defense to successfully argue insanity due to voluntary intoxication. It seems like his legal team might have missed an opportunity here. While I absolutely don't condone Mendoza's actions, I wonder if this line of defense could have offered some insight into his state of mind during the shooting. It's unsettling to think that such a crucial part of his defense was essentially dismissed, potentially impacting the length of his sentences. Regardless of the legal technicalities, nothing can bring Nathan back, and that's what's truly devastating. My heart goes out to Brianna and little Zayden, who now have to navigate their lives without Nathan. I hope the community continues to rally around this family and provides them with the support they need.
