Did anyone else notice the timing of John Graham Thompson's disappearance? February 8, 1977, was right in the midst of a lot of social and economic changes in California. I'm curious if anyone has looked into whether there were any major events or concerns in Mountain View or nearby that might have been relevant at the time. It seems like a long shot, but with cases like these that have gone cold for so long, sometimes even the smallest detail can make a difference. Maybe someone in the area remembers something from back then that seemed unrelated at the time but could now provide a clue.
Has anyone else looked into the possibility that John Graham Thompson might have been mistaken for someone else on that day? I know it sounds a bit out there, but back in the late '70s, especially in a place like Mountain View, cases of mistaken identity weren’t unheard of. The fact that he mentioned heading to a job interview makes me wonder if someone with ill intentions mistook him for someone they were looking for or if maybe he stumbled into something he wasn’t supposed to see. It’s just such a mystery, and the lack of details over the years really has me thinking outside the box. What do you all reckon might have happened?
Hey everyone,
I've been following the John Graham Thompson case for a bit, and something that's been gnawing at me is his decision to leave for a job interview on that particular day. Does anyone else find it odd that he didn't tell more people about where he was headed or what the job was? I've read that people back then would sometimes leave behind their current lives for promised opportunities, but it still feels like a stretch. Especially since he was last seen in that Army jacket - makes me wonder if the interview was at a place he'd feel needed the added warmth or ruggedness of military-style clothing. Anyone here into the fashion choices and what they might say about his intentions?
