Hello everyone, my name is Katerin Aguilar, and I am the youngest daughter of Efrain Aguilar. I was only 13 at the time of his murder. I unfortunately wasn’t even in the country when he was murdered, I was actually in Honduras, my family including my father was from there, but I was born in the US so I was able to travel, anyways, I was out of the country saying my last goodbyes to my older brother who was also murdered 2 weeks before my father on July 7th, 2019. I never really expected to get any answers from the authorities down in Honduras, as the country itself is very corrupt and no one really cares about anyone down there, but having my father murdered while trying to get a beer, which by the way he never opened until he got home and showered and drank it with his dinner, and get home from work. Knowing it happened in Houston, I expected some or even just a few answers, but it’s been almost 8 years and we still haven’t received any responses. Ever since I turned 18 and could advocate for my father, I have tried to get in contact with the detective who was in charge of his case, now I’m about to turn 21, and is still haven’t received a call back or even an email from him. I don’t want to loose hope, even though my family may already have, but he was my father. Who raised me from the age of 4 when I returned to the US after living in Honduras with my mother for 4 years. She took me with her when she went back to Honduras to be with the rest of my siblings. He never committed any crime, and he may have gotten 2 speeding tickets, but BOTH times, he appeared in court and/or paid It himself. Ever since his death, I have been living with family friends who have ZERO obligation towards me, but they have treated me like if I was their daughter, as they were best friends with my father, and the state/county denied any attempts we tried to make to receive help from them. I was left by alone with no blood family, and zero financial support from anyone besides our amazing family friends who paid for everything until I was old enough to get a job. And even then, they still continue helping me financially. All I have ever wanted was answers. Or even an update. But I can’t seem to get anyone’s attention. I know the case is still open because I attempted to request his autopsy report, but got denied due to it still being open, and also because we NEVER received my fathers personal cell phone back. Even though we told investigators that there was most likely nothing of evidence on it. And if they did find something, why haven’t they contacted me or anyone?

Hey all, I’ve been following the case of Efrain Aguilar Ramos, and have been thinking a lot about the neighborhood dynamics in situations like this. It’s so upsetting to hear stories of communities with ongoing tensions over something as seemingly small as parking. From what I understand, the neighborhood had a history of these issues escalating, but never to such a tragic extent. It makes me wonder if there were missed opportunities to mediate these disputes before they spiraled out of control.
I can’t even begin to imagine the grief and pain Efrain’s family is experiencing, and I hope they find some semblance of peace and justice as this unfolds. It’s a stark reminder of how quickly things can go wrong — how a moment's anger can have irreversible consequences. My heart goes out to everyone involved, and I’m hoping for a resolution that honors Efrain’s memory. Does anyone have more insights into the community’s response to this incident?

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Efrain Aguilar Ramos and came across something that might be worth discussing. It's really unsettling to think about how these neighborhood tensions can escalate to such a severe tragedy. From what I've gathered, this area in northwest Harris County had ongoing issues with parking disputes. Some neighbors mentioned in interviews how they've felt uneasy about these confrontations for a while.
It just breaks my heart thinking about how a simple neighborhood inconvenience could lead to such unthinkable consequences. Why do you think this particular neighborhood had so much tension? And do you think community interventions, like mediation or neighborhood meetings, could have made any difference in preventing this?
Sending thoughts to Efrain's family and friends. It’s so difficult to imagine the pain they must be going through. They deserve justice and answers. Would love to hear your thoughts on the neighborhood dynamics and any similar experiences you might have had in your own communities.
