I've been following the case of Fredrick Myers, and it's been incredibly emotional reading about his impact on the South Dallas community. Something that stands out to me is the role his barbershop played in so many lives. From what I've gathered, Kingz of Cutz wasn’t just a place to get a haircut—it was more like a community hub where people felt welcomed and supported. Myers’s contributions went beyond just providing jobs. He’d go out of his way to help with school supplies for kids and even meals for families who needed it. I think this shows how truly invested he was in uplifting those around him. It's devastating that his life was taken in such a senseless act of violence, particularly by someone who had been part of that community too. The fact that there's now a prison sentence feels like a step towards justice, but it can’t erase the pain for his family and those who relied on him. His mother taking over the shop is incredibly brave—I can't imagine how hard that must be for her. Does anyone know if the community has ongoing support systems set up in his memory? I hope his legacy continues to inspire kindness and solidarity.
