Has anyone looked into whether there have been any local legends or rumors about hidden bodies in San Jose from that era? I've been reading about Gus Henry Hoffman Jr.'s case, and it seems so bizarre that his remains and the motorcycle just vanished without a trace. With the gang culture back in the 70s, I'm wondering if there are any spots known in the community as "off-limits" or if older locals have whispered stories about places where people just... disappeared. Maybe some of those old garages or warehouses were demolished, or have they been repurposed? Any hidden places that might be worth checking out with new technology? It seems there might be a chance something could be uncovered with fresh eyes or modern equipment. What do you all think?

I've been following the Gus Hoffman case for a while now and something that really sticks out to me is the issue with the motorcycle. I mean, for someone to take the time to restore such a specific vintage bike, it's got to be distinctive, right? It's strange that neither it nor Gus turned up anywhere. I've heard cases where unique vehicles surface years later in the most unexpected places—barns, junkyards, or even hidden in plain sight. Considering the conviction of the gang members, maybe some of them or their associates know more about the bike than they've let on. Could it have been dismantled, or is it still out there somewhere, potentially a key to unraveling what truly happened? Would love to hear if anyone else has thoughts on this or has come across similar situations in other cases.
