I was reading about Diane Schneider's case in Hockley, and it's just so tough to process. I think what's really haunting is how isolation might have played a role in this tragedy. It's one thing when someone outwardly expresses fear or concerns, but Diane reportedly felt safe with her husband despite his struggles. It's possible that she didn't share everything with friends or family, perhaps to protect him or just to keep things private. It’s such a deeply personal decision about when to reach out for help, and I can't help but wonder if she had anyone she trusted enough to confide in regularly. Sometimes people don’t reach out because they don't want to burden others or might feel ashamed—mental health stigma is real and powerful. We need to encourage open conversations within communities to dismantle that stigma so more people feel comfortable seeking the help they need. Sending so much love and strength to Diane's friends and family. I hope they're receiving all the support and care they need. Let's honor Diane by checking in on our own loved ones and ensuring they know that asking for help is okay. It's so heartbreaking to see another life cut short.
