I've been thinking a lot about the role of church security teams after the terrible events at the West Freeway Church of Christ. It's been widely reported how Jack Wilson acted swiftly to stop more lives from being lost, and while it's a comfort to know there was someone there to brave the situation, it’s sad that we need security in places meant for peace and worship. Tony Wallace was just doing what he loved, serving his congregation. How heartbreaking to think his life ended in such a violent way. It makes me wonder about the balance between ensuring safety and maintaining the open, welcoming spirit that churches strive for. Tony's dedication to his community and faith is something that should be celebrated, and it’s so touching to read about how he impacted so many lives. Sending thoughts and prayers to his family and friends, and hoping they find some peace and strength in their cherished memories of him.
