I’ve been revisiting Lou Allen Goettsch’s case, and something keeps nagging me about the timing of it all. How does someone with $3,000 in workers' comp just vanish, leaving over $1,000 in their bank untouched, especially if drugs were involved? From what I gather, it seems like the money wasn’t the motive, which leaves me wondering—what else could have been going on? There’s a lot of talk about Roney Harper’s confession and recantation, but if Harper wasn’t after the money, what was he really after? It seems bizarre to confess to a crime without at least claiming the money. Could there have been someone else involved, or another reason Lou might have been targeted? I keep thinking about the loose ends like Lou’s untouched funds and his plans to move into that new apartment. Maybe he was seen as low-key, living transiently, and thought to be an easy target? Does anyone else think there might be something more to that day he was supposed to move into his apartment? Would love to hear your thoughts.
