I've been following the case of Deja and Abbaney Matts, and my heart goes out to their family, especially knowing that Allen, at just 2 years old, has to endure the loss of his mother and aunt. It's terrifying to think this tragedy could have potentially been prevented. The fact that Jacques Dshawn Smith was out on bail after the previous incident with Abbaney is infuriating. How could he have been allowed to roam free after such violent threats and acts? It’s deeply concerning how the system sometimes fails to protect individuals from known abusers. Let’s hope this case brings about necessary changes in how domestic violence cases are handled, so no other family has to suffer like this. May Deja and Abbaney Rest In Peace, and may Allen find healing and strength as he grows up surrounded by love and support.

It's so painful to read about Deja Matts and her sister Abbaney. I can't stop thinking about Abbaney's child, Allen, who survived this nightmare. That poor little boy has lost so much at such a young age. I hope he receives the love and support he needs to heal, not just physically but emotionally too. It's encouraging to see the community coming together to support the Matts family, but it's clear Allen will need ongoing care. I'm curious to know if there are any initiatives or funds being set up to support him long-term. Does anyone have information on this? My heart goes out to all who knew and loved Deja and Abbaney.

I’ve been following the Matts sisters’ case closely, and one aspect that really struck me was the failure of the justice system to protect Abbaney from her ex, Jacques Dshawn Smith. It's chilling to think that just a week before the murders, Smith was arrested for a violent assault against her, yet he was released on bail. This feels like such a devastating oversight and a massive failure to protect Abbaney and Deja. I can’t imagine the fear they must have felt knowing he was free again. This situation raises so many questions about how domestic violence cases are handled and what can be done to better safeguard victims. I’ve seen discussions on reforming bail policies, and cases like this emphasize how crucial that conversation is. My heart goes out to their family and friends who must be wondering if this could have been avoided. Sending them strength during such a difficult time.
