Has anyone ever delved into the idea that Richard Rideout might have left Long Beach intentionally? I was reading about his case, and it seems like there's a complete lack of evidence pointing to foul play. It's a long shot, but what if he just decided to start a new life somewhere else? People sometimes feel trapped and make sudden decisions to leave their lives behind. Given the era, it might have been easier for someone to just vanish without a trace. I wonder if anyone has looked into financial records, old acquaintances, or contacted shelters from that time to see if someone matching his description ever turned up.
Of course, it's just speculation, but it's odd that no solid leads ever surfaced about his whereabouts. Would love to hear thoughts on this theory or if it's even been considered by authorities or any amateur sleuths out there!
