I've been following the case of the Harris brothers, and I can't stop thinking about the locked car and the fishing gear left behind. It's so unsettling to imagine what might have happened between leaving that note and their father finding everything undisturbed but them missing. Did they have an accident, or did something or someone else come into play? The fact that their car was locked seems odd—were they leaving it secure because they were planning to come right back? Also, it's curious that only one of their fishing poles was found on the rocks; were they both using the same pole, or did something interrupt them before they could set up? The more I think about these little details, the more questions I have. It's one of those cases where the smallest detail could be the key to figuring everything out.
Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions on November 5, 1985? I couldn't find any specific records, but considering the location at Fort Wetherill State Park, I'm thinking that the ocean conditions would have been challenging if it was stormy or if there were strong tides that day. It might explain why Stephen and Robert's fishing pole and bait were found on the rocks but nothing else. If they were swept away or tried to reach for something that fell in, it could have been a tragic accident. Has anyone come across any local reports from that time describing the weather or sea conditions? It might help us understand more about what might have happened that day.
