I've been following the case of Ryan Wann since it happened and something that really stands out to me is how deeply impacted his family has been, especially his son, Cruz. As a parent, I can't even begin to imagine the pain and confusion that Cruz must be going through. Losing a father at such a young age, and in such a violent way, is something no child should have to endure. It's heart-wrenching to see that this young boy has to cope with the loss of his dad, who he clearly adored. I've read that Ryan was known to be a loving and gentle father, always putting Cruz's needs first. It just doesn’t sit right with me that they're still waiting for any kind of justice or closure. Watching his mom, Cynthia, fight so hard for some kind of accountability must be both inspiring and incredibly painful for Cruz. Her strength can't be easy to maintain. This whole situation is a stark reminder of how senseless acts of violence ripple through and devastate families. I'm hoping with everything that I have that the investigation moves forward quickly and fairly, for the sake of Cruz and all of Ryan's loved ones. If anyone has thoughts on how communities can better rally around families like theirs during such unfathomable times, please share. We need to support them in any way we can.
