Reading about Trooper Chad Walker's story just leaves my heart so heavy. I can't help but think about his wife and those four kids, especially his littlest one who will grow up without truly knowing her dad. It breaks my soul imagining what they're going through right now. Walker sounded like such a good soul—dedicated to his job and his family. It really puts into perspective the daily risks law enforcement officers take. They wake up each day not knowing what might happen, yet they still head out to protect us. I hope the support from fellow officers and the community brings some comfort to his loved ones during this unfathomably difficult time. Sending thoughts to everyone who knew and loved him.
