I’ve been following the case of Carlos Valentine Vasquez Jr., and this situation has truly stuck with me, especially hearing about what a lively personality he was. Friends and family describe him as the kind of person who could light up a room. It’s just so tragic to think about how someone like that could have their life cut short in such a senseless way. It’s really hard watching the community struggle with this void he left behind. I hope that during the trial, the jury remembers not just the facts of the case, but also the person Carlos was, and how much he meant to everyone around him. Sending so much love to his family and friends during this incredibly challenging time. If there’s any chance for peace, I hope they find it as this process unfolds.
