I was reading through the details of Jenna Soderberg's case, and something that really stood out to me was how the couple arrived separately at the hotel with their luggage. It makes you wonder what their intentions were. It's difficult to imagine what Jenna might have thought was going to happen. Did she believe they might talk things out, or was she planning to leave him for good? The fact that there were signs of aggression in their past, including the protective order, makes this even more tragic. It's so frustrating to see how systems in place sometimes fail to protect those in danger. My heart goes out to Jenna’s family. I can't begin to fathom their pain, not only due to her loss but also thinking about how the system couldn't keep her safe. Let’s hope her story raises more awareness about the severity of domestic violence and the dire need for better protective measures.
